Welcome Dinner

Jeremy has a new staff person starting next week and they moved to OKC all the way from Texas. Since we know how hard moving can be, we decided to help out by bringing over dinner.

I made lasagna, salad, garlic bread, and a home made pound cake. Yum! They were so sweet and really appreciated the effort. I was glad to do it, since I know when you're moving you're so tired and sweaty and yucky and starving, but you can't find your packed deodorant, so you don't want to leave the house for dinner!

I served the pound cake with strawberries (I cut these up and put a little sugar on them earlier in the day, so they were nice and juicy!) and cool whip. Delicious!

Sour Cream Pound Cake
Ingredients:
1/2 pound (2 sticks) butter
3 cups sugar
1 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3 cups all-purpose flour
6 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together. Add the sour cream and mix until incorporated. Sift the baking soda and flour together. Add to the creamed mixture alternating with eggs, beating each egg 1 at a time. Add the vanilla and pour the mixture into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan. Bake for 1 hour 20 minutes.

it looks yummy! I have a question. does a pound cake really weigh a pound?
